Free coop and a question

So someone is offer a free old chicken coop on freecycle.com. It is 8x8.
Here are the pictures he sent.

I will have to take it apart to get it home in the trailer.

Do I need to worry about what illnesses or what have you might be lurking in this old coop? If he lets me have the feeder and any other supplies he might have for chickens I will definately sanitize them.

I have not seen it in person as they are a little over an hour away. But it looks pretty sound and may just need a new paint job and some new 2x4s
Heck, even if I can't put it back together I know I could make something out of it!

What do you all think?

Caulk & paint will make it what it aint! With the price of materials these days, at the very least you should be able to salvage enough for a rebuild. Get it. The price is right.

It definitely has potential and character. I don't know if it would help but maybe a nice coating of bleach before you add birds. I have no idea what wood can harbor and for how long. Maybe someone else will chime in with more ideas.

I think its perfect..... I got an old coop giving to me I was also worried about what was lurking in the coop so I got a pressure washer and sprayed it down then I got water and some bleach and scrubbed it really well For free wow thats really cool new paint and a cleaning you will be amazed what it will look like Good luck

Good old elbow grease, bleach water and a scrub brush....some paint and touch up ssecurity and you will have an awesome little coop.

I know, I'm so excited!

I'm just nervous that he may have offered it to someone else, I haven't heard back from him yet for a pick up time....I do have the luck of being 2 seconds to late when it comes to freecycle.com stuff!
