I was given this shed for free and turned it into my first coop! I have a chicken nipple waterer to install, and will add a door to an outside run when the weather gets a little warmer. We plan to mount a solid door over the screen ones before winter. We just moved eleven chicks into it this morning. Let the fun begin!

Nice!!
Only issue I see is ventilation.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

Awesome chicken coop! What a great setup! It is very spacious and should fit many chickens! It great that you have plenty of nestboxes!

Do you have linoleum under the shaving? When it comes time to clean the coop, linoleum makes it so easy to scrap!

Awesome coop!

We are in SE Missouri, so we get all of the weather. Summer humidity here can be brutal. We do have the option of adding power to the coop, and a neighbor suggested adding a fan in the back window to increase ventilation. This was a regular wooden shed that had the metal siding and some roof insulation added to it, so I’m hesitant to cut a bunch of holes through multiple layers of wall if I can accomplish the same effect another way.

Awesome coop!
I took the suggestion of someone on here and stapled down some thick plastic under the shavings. I figured if it wasn’t durable enough I can replace it with linoleum when it’s time for a clean out. Maybe I can come by a cheap piece of scrap linoleum between now and then!

Or even a bunch of pieces that you can glue down together, not like anybody’s going to see it under all that wood shavings. I put linoleum under my sand in my coop because I didn’t want the plywood bottom that I nailed in to get wet or soak in feces. The sand usually absorbs any moisture until I pick everything up in the morning but I didn’t want it to soak into flooring because I don’t like chicken poo.
