I have 24 coturnix eggs that I put in the bator on 5-15-09. My wife planned a vacation for us in a couple of weeks so I won't be here when they are due to hatch. If you have a bator and want to finish hatching them you can have them. I live between Mocksville and Statesville.

Im not shure that would work unless they brought something to keep them warm with them , also if these eggs are 7 or 8 days old now you only need another 10 days or so till they hatch.
Can you get a bator / brooder sitter

I thought I would put them in a small styrofoam cooler with a microwaved wet towel for heat. They should be OK if someone lives within 30-40 minutes....Hopefully.

A person a half hour from your place would deffinatly be able to take those of fyour hands and hatch them (theres actually a hatchery here in PA that does that)!

I thought it was weird at first but now that I nkow how the eggs develop and such it doesnt sound so weird after all

I would advise *against* a wet towel though the eggs may absorb that and they really aren't meant to get wet

Eggs that are incubated can be cooled for a half hour and still be viable so as long as they picked htem up and left ASAP and went hoome and put them in their bator they'd be fine

I have the plastic carton the eggs came shipped in, The eggs wouldn't be in contact with the warm towel. It would just provide a little heat. Thanks for the advice.
