Free Incubators

That computer fan sounds like about the right size for your bator Junkman. Everyone needs to remember that you need a fan large enough for your application.
I replaced the fan in my cabinet bator with a "squirrel cage fan" because it was much quieter.

Problem was that it didn't circulate enough air in the bator and had about a 10% hatch.

I learned my lesson fast and put the original fan back in.
There is alot of trial and error to this hopefully we can get enough info to keep the errors down to a minimum.

Nope - I don't have a clue. Closest I get to any of that is...I once changed a belt out on a dryer. And that ain't very close. Wonder if that person from NC would come all the way to LA to make me one of those 'freebies'!

I didn't make a incubator but I did make a hatcher. I have 8 incubators(1200 egg total capacity)..so I really needed a hatcher. I bought all the parts from GQF, the parts they use to make their cabinet incubators. I transformed a upright freeze to a huge capacity Hatcher. It is really not that hard to do. I could also incubate in it, but I would have to manually turn the eggs.
It hold fantastic temp even when freezing outside(Yes, I confess I have hatched year round).

I have a few pics and description on my website if you want to look - here is the link.

Whew!!, when I first read LA, I thought Califonia, second thought was Lower Alabama, then a couple of more looks to realize Louisiana. You might have to chip in a little gas money to get me down there, or just check here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=244700
