Free Link "Growing Meat Quail"

Yep...lots of folks raise quail for the meat. Mine are all considered "my babies" and I still have yet to butcher any of them! Right now I am over-run with Bobs and would love to thin them out a bit. But after you have hatched, named and babied each one to death, it is hard to let them see you coming after them with a killing utensil!

When they are 4-6 weeks, you know what colors/body types are keepers and what are culls...all the keepers are kept in their cozy run and "pampered" by DW, all others go into a run called "the food pen". You loose attachment when they go in there for the final grow out period...then you love them again right out of the oven!

I wish I COULD separate myself from these lil guys. I have a few males that are so aggressive toward me, I swear...if these boys were chicken roosters, I would have been flogged to death and they are only QUAIL!!
