Just the fact that we have them. Animal control stopped by to tell us they had a report that we had chickens, and that our zoning forbids livestock. We have fish in a little pond also... are they livestock? What if they were baby Robins or Doves?

Personally, mine are pets. I swear, people these days - it's like the folks that complain about hanging out your laundry. Look the other way, for pete's sake.

This is what I am affraid of as well. I cannot find anything in our laws in our part of VA that prohibit chickens so that is why we decided to go ahead and raise some. We are not going to raise that many and they can't free range the way I would like, and I don't think we can keep any of our roos (have at least 4 right now, maybe 5). So we are going to have a pretty small flock.

One of our neighbors I would believe that she would be okay with them, but our other neighbors, well I am not too sure about them.

There are places that actually forbid having any kind of outside clothes line. That's why I DON'T live in one of those places.

I'd love to help you out, but you're about a 5 hr. drive from me.

Hopefully someone closer to you will be able to help you out very soon. I'm so sorry you're having to rehome your chickens. Stupid nosy neighbors ....
