Free range age

My 6 BR and 1 RIR are about 4 weeks old, when would you all start letting them free range and anyone have any experience with kitties attacking or messing with them? I've seen some lay with the birds and some are curious for "food"

Also being in a urban environment any tips or ways i could keep them contained to the back yard area without building a big privacy fence? TIA!!

Do you usually have cats in your area or any other potential predators? Me personally I don't have any predators that go in my backyard due to my dogs. So I let them free range around that time but with supervision for the first couple of times.

We have 2 cats and 1 other roams the neighborhood

I would supervise for the first time and leave you cats in a separate area.

I wish there was a way we could keep them in the yard without a fence as well LOL

Probably not possible. You can try a movable coop with no flooring so you can just move them along to graze.

This or you can just get yourself some garden stakes and bird netting with plastic ties. Should be a heck of a lot cheaper than a privacy fence.
