Free-range flock based in garage I watch forage in morning. Yesterday, late in the day they found the mother load of frost killed insects along fence row with concentration of fallen leaves. This morning they ignored typical path and took beeline to that location. In coming weeks I will play around and see just what they can remember and possibly what is worth remembering. Hen with dependent juvenile offspring was the leader rather that the harem master. Hen clucking to offspring pushing 10 weeks which is more than average and approaching the maximum duration.

There memory is much better than many expect…they can recognize and remember over 100 flock members + humans. likely they will keep checking on the mother load location until nothing shows up there.

My free range game head over to check under my neighbors bird feeder. Then they head to mine LOL
Find a good restaurant, and you have to keep going back.
