You should have them under a heat lamp for the first week or two. Once you get them outside full time, you should keep them in their coop and run so they learn that that’s their home. Once they learn to go inside the coop at night, I’d say it’s safe to allow them to free range.We are getting Rhode Island Reds as day old chicks and were wondering what age they would be able to start free ranging?
