They range from 2 weeks to 2 months. I am already letting them free range a little bit. I have them in a big pen made From pallets and fencing on top. I have just been opening the door and stay outside with them for as long as they want. Then when they all go into the pen I shut the door. Then I'll free range a little later in the day or the next day. I was just asking, because they seem more energetic and lively. So they will build up their immune system?Instead of letting them run loose, set up a covered puppy play pen, make sure they can't squeeze out the sides, but they still have grass, how old are yours? The benefits are building up a natural immunituly to the things in their environment, and get to eat greens all day. They are also happier, and overall, that makes them healthier.
The big black hen is 100% free range, she is two years old. She just comes around to check out the chicks sometimes.Pics? Yes it helps build immune systems.
Thanks!! The hay is there because it had rained so it got muddy. Hay helps lolOk, on the grass they get all the benefits, in the hay not ad much. Looks like a great set up!
