This may not be the correct forum, but we were needing some help trying to decide the best "coop" or "non-coop" option for brand new chicks and a wild hen mother. The wild hen/mother has been incubating the eggs in a coop for several weeks. Now that the eggs have hatched, should she be allowed to free range with chicks in tow or remain cooped? It is important to also know that we live rurally on land, so there is the threat of hawks and other wildlife, as well as our many cats.
