Free range drake killed a duckling.

I caught my 2 YEAR OLD Rouen drake charging and violently nipping at one of his own ducklings, causing it to limp. I found him later that day dead. He had no other visible injuries or illnesses. The rest of the ducklings are doing fine.

I keep them free ranged on a quarter acre backyard and never had issues before. What should i do with this drake?

I would lock him up before he kills more.
Lots of people have to keep drakes seperate to prevent them from killiing babies.
Some drakes are okay but many are not.

Yep, lock him up. How sad. Some drakes are just no good around young, i have been fortunate in my flock i have not had any issues but i always have to be mindful, heck even some females will attack others young...
