I am getting 25 Pure non production RIRs. I don't want my Barred Rock or Buff Rock Roos jumping the RIR hens. I was thinking I would one day out one day in so the Rock roos couldn't get to any of the RIR hens. Anyone ever tried this. I am a big believer in free range.

I have three different coops of chickens. Each pen has a run for the chickens, but I like to let groups free range on a rotating basis. Right now one group has young Silkies that I'm not ready to let out to free range, but my Welsummer group free ranges one day and the next day the Easter Egger bunch gets out. It works well for me.

i also have three coops and i let the Buffs out one day and the Welsummers the next and the EE the next day. Somedays I even let two groups out together but only when I am not collecting for a hatch any time soon...

PS... I actually have another group in this rotation. I give my two dogs FREE RANGING days also.
