They are really good at that and stripping a bush quickly!

I'm sure others have said this, but 3' is NOT high enough. I have 5' welded wire on tposts around my whole garden. It'[s worked so far. for the plants I have outside the garden, they leave the aloe and agave alone, but I have cages around everything else. They DESTROYED all my roses, at first they left my jasmine bushes alone but eventually they started nibbling those too. They go after every flower or herb I've planted. So...everything gets a cage. Like you, I let them roam free on my 1.25 acres to keep bugs and flies down. They have a coop, but they all roost in our 30+ ft trees. So far, the fencing is the only thing that's helped.
