Free ranging 12 week old chicks--will they go back to coop?

We have found that teenagers ( as we call them) stay out later than the old hens. We often have to shoo them in at sunset. They want to wander until pitch dark outside.
You may find the young ones gradually mixing with the others-- sharing food and investigating the coop. It's a gradual thing. Once you see them mixing inside the coop you can encourage the move by closing off the nursery.

We have 5 BR's and 4 Lavender Orps free ranging. They stay segregated by their own choosing and are 6 weeks apart in age at 16 and 10 weeks. They free range all day, from about 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM. There are times when you wouldn't know that we own chickens if it weren't for the coop in the back yard. They can disappear into the bushes and tall grasses like ghosts. I check on them every couple of hours by bringing them a treat. They all come running, I get a head count.
