Well, I got my Silkies back in late March. So I have had them for 5 months.

I have 1 hen, 2 roosters, 3 chicks that are around 2 months old, and 3 sebright chicks the same age.

I was wondering if I let them out to free range if they would stick around, and not wander around. Dont silkies stay close to their coop?

My silkies love to free range and they stick together. My bigger chickens (rocks, orpingtons, etc.) will usually venture out further and don't stay in one spot longer than 10 minutes. The silkies, on the other hand, tend to find a spot they like usually in some tall weeds, brush, etc. and stay there for longer periods. I think the silkies do well free ranging...Polish on the other hand, not so much (they can't see too well lol)

I only have two Silkies who are just three months old but my pullet loves to free range with the rest of the standard breed chickens. My Silkie Roo not so much, he stays much closer to the coop, sometimes he won't even come out of the coop during the day.
