Free ranging poo management

2. Dogs. They hoover all the poop and the chickens eat the dog poop. It's a gross, GROSS cycle.
I agree with everything you said except this!!

Isn't that a recipe for worms and disease and god knows what else sort of intestinal problems?

I hose blast my chicken poop into the grass when they free range.

My dog only eats cat poo 🤮 (if she gets to it before I can pick it up!)

Most people's gut reaction to poop eating is concern for parasites, and we totally were too at first! But it's unavoidable for us, and after years and years of owning multiple dog who have eaten multiple types of livestock poo we've only had issues once and that was from a ranch dog eating horse droppings. Maybe we've just been lucky, but we also de-worm every 6 months when they go in for routine check-ups.

I'm not criticising, and I get that it is impossible to clean up multiple small chicken poops spread everywhere, but dog poo is bigger, easy to see and pick up before the chickens are let out if they all free range in the same space, surely?

We never wear shoes in the house and have a bunch of plastic clogs on Amazon we keep outside for the coop/backyard.

We raise chicks in a coop in our backyard and let them free range under supervision once they're 9-10 weeks old. They get up on the patio furniture (which I cover with towels) and poop everywhere. It stains the concrete and drives me crazy until they're old enough to put down in the little orchard with the rest of the flock. We hose everything down and have a stiff brush broom to scrape the poop off the patio. Our sprinklers dissolve most of the poop on the grass.

Having a set of outdoor clogs/flip flops for each household member and some spares for guests would take care of the problem of tracking waste into your house.
