Thanks! When you say you only let them out when you're home- home like out in the yard or home like inside?

At first, in the yard and looking at them.
Later, in the yard but doing yardwork or sunbathing or whatever else you like to do.
Later yet, probably with you inside (but if you hear squawking, barking, etc: go check!)

The majority of problems will show up fairly soon: the chicken-sized hole in a neighbor's fence, the dog that never visited until now, the flowerbed they want to dust-bathe in, etc.

Watching closely right at first can help you notice whatever you didn't think of. (It will not be anything I listed as an example, because now you're thinking about those things. But there will probably be something.)

We take a plastic vitamin or prescription bottle (small) and put some beans in it, then shake it when we throw out sunflower seeds. You will be shocked how quickly they learn this. We’re on 2 acres, and that sound is easily heard from anywhere on the property. But, with our fox problems, the girls will only be out when we’re with them.
