Free ranging

We live in the woods where we have lots of predators. For us letting our flocks free range is scary. We lost a hen to an owl one day and a hen to a dog another day. So we've been pretty adamant about keeping the flocks inside unless we are right out there with them. We moved and are still in the woods but have a big lawn around our home. We have a flock of bantams and a flock of larger chickens. Jersey giants and brahmas. I've been letting the big girls out because I don't think a hawk can carry them but I still watch very carefully. I've been letting them roam longer and longer. It's so awesome seeing them run around not restricted. I still get nervous but it awesome seeing them free. They still stay beside the coops. Lol
