In the Brooder
At 13-weeks old now, looks like our RIR hen is a rooster. We knew it was coming from the pic below (a few weeks ago) but being new chicken owners we were holding onto a hope that maybe some how it was just a 'different' hen. This morning, it's clear he is not by the crow he developed overnight.
This guy is actually the most docile chicken of the flock of hens...let's me pet him while he stands there, picks up easy (while I usually have to chase the hens a little or be quick with them). He (and the whole flock) is perfectly healthy, fed medicated feed, got Marek's vaccination from the beginning, etc.
We are about 20 min North of Albany, NY.
