Saint Amant, La, We have 10 beautiful russian orloff chicks plus, 1 buff hen, bantham rooster (think hes also nblack star, found him) and 1 black star hen, that I absolutely have to find homes for. :( I loove them, but our business has gone under and we are having to sell our home and can't bring them with. I'm desperate as no one has shown interest. I will include the hutch and small run I have for the two larger hens.

I live in chauvin, la . I would b more than happy to take them. We have several hens already and my lil kids love them. If interested give me a call or text 985) 217-0473

My two bug hens are being picked up shortly and I have someone coming look at the rest this evening. If they decide to back out. I'll let you know.

Thanks so much everyone for your interest but they're all gone. Happy and sad.

so sorry to hear your having such a rough time,..i had a similar situation a few years back..thank God we were able to some how get back on our feet and buy a farm..but it was a struggle for a min for sure..so hold hope, when one door closes..its not long before another opens :) I have how ever been noticing that it seems like the chicken business (hatching/selling) has REALLY taken a nose dive...and iv been noticing its kinda all over, I have rare and very expensive chickens..but even friends with common/less expensive breeds seem to be having trouble too this year..just seems like theirs more sellers and less buyers...and like alot of people almost cant even give em away..wonder what the deal is? just seems like this year has been really tough :/ kinda hurts the farm here because i have soooo much money n time in my birds..and rely on that money to help support the farm and a few needs..have you noticed a difference this year too?

You are right litleme28 I had a very hard time selling chicks this year it took me twice as long as last year.I don't have a farm but hatch an sell as a hobby and it's been rough, even with my roo's last year was able to rehome pretty quick this year I'm stuck with many and having trouble getting rid of them.I think it must be because of the economy.

well, i hope things improve next year..i dont think its going to be worth doing much longer if it keeps costing far more than im getting back :/ I really enjoy my hobby/chickens..but it was also helping out with expenses by hatching/selling..now its kinda bleeding me dry ...might have to cut back to just a few for eggs. maybe others are doing the same..and thats why im seeing so many practicaly being given away (and some that seem to not even be able to do that despite what they are or their value). Iv noticed goats and horses in the same situation this year..I thought things were getting better last season...everything seemed to be selling ok (even with the high cost of hay n feeds) . this year seems like some things have come down a little, like hay..so i dont know whats going on this year..but its not good :/

Ya I agree can't figure it out either but I def paid more this year than I got back so next year I will be cutting back on hatching and selling,in my case the only thing that saves me is that mine are all good layer breeds so I'm able to sell a good amount of eggs. But still lost cash this year, hope it's not a trend I guess we will see
