We have what we believe are three roosters (we were suposed to have all pullets so we are very disappointed) we live in Oakdale CA. We got our chicks on Feb 14 and they are gorgeous, healthy, and not allowed

in our city! *yikes* there is one big fat Bard Rock Rooster and two lovely Rhode Island Red roosters. They are really beautiful and my kids are gonna be sad to see them go! We need them gone ASAP so if anyone is interested let me know!

We actually got our chicks from the local Tractor Supply. We are pretty bummed out! We did our research last year and my husband was so excited to actually get the chicks. The bins were clearly marked as pullet chicks! Worse yet there were two bins of different pullet chicks both the Barred Rocks and the RIR were clearly mis-marked as 2/3 three RIR are Roos and 1/3 Barreds is a Roo!

I bought chicks from Tractor Supply this spring, too. Two of my six 'red pullets' were roosters. I also bought eight straight run Black Sex Link chicks (and learned after the fact that you can sex them by their looks), and they were ALL roosters. I knew I was going to get a couple with them being straight run, but 100% ROOSTERS! Come on!

Sorry about your luck. I feel your pain.

If I were you I'd call Tractor Supply and complain. We sure did! The district manager told us that the strait run has a 90% chance of getting roosters out of their strait runs! I was shocked, at that point it isn't really a grab bag of chicks at all it's a bunch of roos with a few ladies dropped in. They said that there is only a 1% chance of getting a rooster in their pullet bins. So we feel like lotto winners around here! *UGH* now if only we could find them homes. I am waiting for a SWAT team and animal control to bust down my front door every morning at 5:30-6AM when our birds go crazy! So far our add on Craig's List was a complete bust. We've gotten some weird calls and several no-shows. I just want to get these boys gone ASAP. Our chicken experience is really getting unpleasant!

Uglychickens, where in TX are you? I'm also in TX and may have some young roosters I need to re-home soon.

Just north of DFW airport. Approx how long a drive is it to where you are from the airport?
