It was too late to get any more chickens from feed store so i ordered 3 prodution reds from Ideal. They included 11 cockrels.... was wondering what they were if i decide to keep one or not.they are 3 1/2 weeks old.

White Leghorn Cockerel. I think you can butcher them as fryers around 16-18 weeks.

Ideal used leghorns as my packing peanuts. They look like that. I have 15. I am waiting for them to get a little bigger, but I am sure they sent me a few hens in the mix. Which I am super excited about. They are wonderful egg layers and are supposed to go broody, as well. And as I have no problem eating chicken, I have plenty of roosters to let reproduce a bit and into the frying pan.
