So this is me....I am a freebie and come to live with the turkeys who have pulled out most of my long tail feathers....Or maybe I am moulting? Anyway if you know what I am please tell.

To me they look normal, like my roo "Red"

I don't think he's a RIR. He has white earlobes, and he has what looks like BBR (Black Breasted Red) coloring. I'd guess a Leghorn mix, possibly with RIR.

Ok, my guess of RIR/Leghorn didn't sit perfectly with me so I did a bit more research and found that he does look quite a bit like a partridge Penedesenca. It's easy to confirm or deny that guess, check out his comb, does it split into several lobes at the back? It's something of a long shot, they are not a very common backyard breed.

Either way his color is more likely Partridge rather than BBR. Unfortunatly that doesn't narrow down the breed possibilities much!

agreed..he is cool looking but not the same marking as my RIR roo.

Yes toward the front the comb has large spaced lobes. Then it begins to split into several small spaced lobes. He is very shy...and won't let me get too close.

I looked on Feathersite and saw a rooster that really matched him. Look under Leghorns. I am not good with the computer and can't figure out how to put the pic here. He's really pretty.

Thanks for the information and I will check out all the different types he might be. I would love to get him a companion as right now he only has the turkeys. I have always thought he was pretty.
