Freedom Ranger Processing Results

I concur with LInda on using FF.

Right now I am growing out Buckeye and I feed them FF once a day, and dry the rest of the time. ( the FF made with the same feed) . THis method can be easier the first time you are trying it. I do think the birds eat more when the feed is dry. BUt I like the benefits of the FF: better health,, and less smelly poo!

Have tried ff for my meat birds over the last week. They won't touch it. Layers are all over it though.

Take away the dry and just leave the ff and I promise you they will eat it. Then they will attack you when you bring it again. I feed what they can eat in 20 min at 9am and 5 pm. If you feel that they aren't getting enough add a little more.

Today is day 2 with no other options. My Cornish xes have started to come around, freedom rangers not so much but a few are starting try it. Im sure by tomorrow they'll be chowing down. Like i said in my previous post, my layers, including 1 and 2 year olds and now my 5 week olds, love it.

I had this happen at first too. I sprinkled some of the dry feed on top of the fermented feed once or twice until they got the idea. Now, as LindaB220 said above, it is difficult to get the feed to the chickens because they are milling around and leaping on the feeder before it even hits the ground.

Quote: I had the same experience.

I now feed both dry and FF.Hoping to fool them so I won't get mauled.

When I bring a plate of scrambled eggs, I get mauled too.

My younger group in a different brooder are still getting used to it. ANd still prefer the dry. And run when I bring goodies. . . . . someone is gonna get hurt in the mass exodus. lol
