Freedom Rangers in the tractor!

My freedom rangers were very robust, I put them out in the tractor at 3 1/2 weeks with a heat lamp in some pretty cool weather and they held up well. 90% of them liked to range and were quite active in spite of their size. A few just sat by the feeder like Cornish X.
I'm raising some cornish now. Wow, they're like vegetables compared to FR. I don't think they would mix very well - you can make anything work though.
We raised cornish when I was young and I don't remember them being this lethargic - maybe I didn't have anything to compare them too or maybe back then they hadn't been bred to sit and eat as much as now.
I don't think I'll even have CX again.

From one newbie to the next....Thanks for the info! I know that the chicken wire is not as safe. But it is the only thing I have access too...FREE. And the tractor will be in back yard that is fenced (6ft. privacy fence) with our "guard" dog! Hopefully that will keep most predators at bay. Only predator we have experienced so far are the hawks.

Congrats on your meaties and tractor!
