Freeloading streak ended ..

Our egg drought has finally ended! Found this beauty this morning after 3+ months of nothing (not in the nest box, btw, must have forgot how to use it

). To be fair there are only 2 girls left in our small suburban flock & they are 3 & 6 years old.

It's probably a coincidence but this egg comes after a "spa day" they had on Sunday - feet washed & nails clipped - couple divas I have!

Not bad for birds that age. Now that the winter solstice is over 2 months behind us, they should start laying regularly.
I had a 6 year old ameraucana that took a fair winter break but laid very well once days got longer.
