Freeze Drying Digest

Eventually. We go through it so fast it's crazy. We use low-fat cheeses and dairy. And we use oxygen absorbers and vacuum seal.

As for using it. I only freeze dry things we do use or that my nephew uses for camping. I grab things for busy nights after long ranch days. Or for tractor lunches. Thermos full of hot water and I have biscuits and sausage gravy in a pouch for lunch!

A year later, that I got you hooked, how do like it?

I LOVE mine. Load after load after load. I've replaced the drain shut off, and run a hose to the nearest drain. OH, and I updated to the WIFI dongle. LOL. WHOOOOT

Next batch is mixed with spaghetti sauce, mashed potatoes, and more Velveeta.

I've had mine, oh gosh... maybe 4 years, now. Pretty great!

Also, I'm starting to see the self-sufficiency/prepper stuff that people got and hoarded during lockdown, show up at thrift stores in gently used, not used, or NRFB condition suddenly.
I've been getting great garden processing stuff and ranch stuff for a song. Like a hand crank wondermill and a massive Weston Tomato/Berry mill for only $6. (I have one for a kitchen aid machine, but my KA is down, and I'm using a knock off that only kind of fits the nose attachments for a KA)
I left an amazing apple corer/peeler there, as I have 3 already. (Friends borrow them during August and Sept).
