FREEZE!

So, whenever I approach my birds, they freeze, then kinda squat and spread they're wings.
Which makes it easier to catch them, but why are they doing this?

That's what they do when an amorous rooster comes calling.

That being said, I'm not sure exactly why some hens do that around people.

They think you're the top roo and want you to mount them.

My laying hens do the same thing. I just give them a scratch on the back and they're happy.
