Oh my gosh! That black copper maran is gorgeous! Mine is 14 weeks, I sure hope he has all the beautiful glory as yours! I think #1 you should breed. He is nice and big but I like #2 also.

Thanks EggSighted4Life. I did know that but wasn't thinking clearly. I'm just so used to hens and roosters, and I'm a little new to taking to anyone about chickens other than my 4 and 2 year old.

I have 3 others that hatched from the blue water ranch line. 1 is to aggressive for me and the kids, one has to much copper I believe, and the other is the smallest. But I have them all still and will continue to monitor them as they grow.

Thanks, it is certainly an adventure. I just wanted some 3 hens for fresh eggs a couple years ago. Now I'm knee deep with 50+ hens (and some pullets).

Same here! Started with 4 Buffs and now we have a menagerie of 32! We recently welcomed our first grandson on Feb 3rd and I'm already hoping he'll be a wonderful BYC member someday! Best wishes from Michigan!
