French Black Copper Marans with very little copper

Mine were always pretty dark. But there may be some variation until they get a little older and it really starts to darken up.

Should day-old chicks have dark legs? I'm talking to a local breeder with no name and this is a picture of one of the day-old chicks she has. Does this look like a good French Black Copper Marans? View attachment 3302235

Pullets should have darker legs than cockerels . They should have some pink too around the toes .
