Thanks for any advice I've gotten. After two weeks, nothing is sick or dying, all 6 hens and two roosters are doing well. Three or four of the hens have started laying, I built the simple automatic feeder from a garbage can and a planter base, and they've had their first "great escape" outside of the run/coop area. They've yet to find my 50 sq yard manure compost pile though. That will be Valhalla.

Fun to watch them, asd you all said, they do have personalities. I do feel bad for my B list rooster though. He stayed in the run while the rest were out enjoying the sunny afternoon. In my past businesses, I sold thousands of chicken skins used for fly tying, and am very familiar with color/shade/quality/marking variations, so I'm interested in having a full blood rooster. My present two are doing a great job, but if I'm going to put up with one, I want a handsome beast. Coq au vin on the menu soon I think.

Thanks,

Pete
