French frogs

Just run of the mill feeder pigs. My sister thinks the white ones have Yorkshire in them and my dad thinks the brown ones have Spotted poland china.

We are thinking of getting some American guinea hogs or kunekune this year. We raised suffolk large whites when we lived in England. But I don't want anything that large.

I'm always happy to see the snow. We don't get too much here in Albuquerque, and it only snowed in So Cal where I lived about once every 10 years or so.

We never get socked in though, so I can see how those with tough winters don't celebrate it like I do.

Ah, nice! My sister wants herford pigs, my dad wants red wattle, but since we haven't had pigs in A LONG time and we wanted to pasture them my sites was like "We should prefect our system with cheap pigs and then get expansive ones so that if we lose one its not so big a lose" So here we are with feeder pigs.

I don't know much about pigs, except for the big ones make me nervous! When I was young a big one knocked me over and scared the heck out of me.

I love the winter and I love snow....but non stop brutal cold of the last few.....it's too much...

How big are yours supposed to get? Or at what weight do you process them?
Well that depends, my guess we'll probably process the eating ones at about 250 pounds. I think the ones we keep as brood sows will get well over 250 pounds. My 4-H pigs are supposed to get between 250 and 300 pounds by May
