Good morning!

Amy, glad you had fun in the snow & returned home in one piece!

Walnut, you have any hatching action yet?

OFW, sorry about that kool aid drinking jerk!

Phil, why did you have to get up at 7 this morning?

Bert, did you have a nice long weekend?

Oz, hope you don't have to work too hard today. First day back after being off can be tough sometimes.

Friday, hope you found something to boost your spirits.

Maybe go to my duckling thread.

Lots of pics.

Miss Am, did you get any sleep last night?

Phone interview went well this morning. I'll hear by the end of the week, either way, about an in person interview.

Yes he did....
Nope
Yeah I'm all about organic and alternative energy....etc....but I'm only as into it as it is practical....and I sure the Heck aren't going to tell anyone else how to live...to each his own. During a environmental science course I took in college...the instructor made a simple point.....even though he was a liberal tree hugger type...he said the truth is before all these chemicals and such....people didn't live as long or as healthy..... So yes we need to be good Stewarts of the world.....but we are also solving problems as our world is evolving....

That's true.

Deb...I didn't....but I'm trying to retrain my body to sleep at the proper time......and even if I cannot fall asleep...I'm not missing my whole day sleeping in.....Heck my wife went to bed hours before me....she's still sleeping......that woman can SLEEP.....:th

I am all about not making things worse for me or others, and to make practical decisions.

I love our property up north, but the only way we can have electric service is by generator, wind, or solar. The local utility wanted $90K 20 years ago because the lines would have to be buried across state land. Generator would be a pain (and noisy) as the nearest gas station is 10 miles away and propane trucks can't get out there as we are down an ORV route in the state forest. Solar doesn't do well in dense forest, and if we cut a swath of trees for solar, we lose some of what we love about the place. Wind is the most practical alternative if we can built a tall enough mast and keep it clear of falling trees and branches. We are on the top of a ridge facing windward, so it's ideal.

It's medical advances that combat the unhealthy things we do to ourselves that prolongs life. The average 19th century American walked miles a day as part of daily routine and ate more wholesome food. If they had the medical treatments we have today, they'd outlive us in my opinion.

Good

Lol I think it is more then your opinion...We are constantly hearing that this generation will be the first to die earlier then their parents :/
But I think it is a multiple problem. Yes we need our children playing more, and our adults are getting lazier. But we also have a cheap food problem. The cheapest food we have is the least healthy for us to eat (and I am talking processed food over fresh vegetables, not even counting organic or conventionally raised)

I was praying for you!

Oh, thanks so much, Oz. I'll say I felt more comfortable than ever during an interview of any type. I have GAD (generalized anxiety disorder), but the support I get here on BYC sure helps!

Oops, I was already typing when you posted. Thanks! I really wasn't even nervous this time.
