Ravyn, I had a dream early this morning (I was up all night with a sick baby. Didn't get to bed till 4:30!) that I was hatching calls!! I was checking them, one was half way out and I was trying to remember everything you had said about your hatches!

Good morning. First chick was breech, it sat all night and was hollering this morning. I gave it a little help since it couldn't turn to zip and it popped out. Yellow with gray stripes, I'll get pics when it's dry. Second has pipped, looks like it is going to be a while before it's ready. 6 more sitting silent...

This is my first hatch in the Eco 20. Humidity is holding about 69% with the paper towel across the wells trick and of course it's rock solid temperature. I did add two wet sponges as my drastic humidity correction days 14-18 appears to have dried the membranes a bit overmuch. The first one pipped brown. The second was normal.

I was breech, too! 3 days late, never bothered to get into position, and I'm still a procrastinator

Hey, @scflock is there any way I could talk you into a recap for my birthday? Traditionally, Mr. P and I go out of town for a couple of nights for my birthday, so it'd be cool to have a recap waiting (I'd PM you to let you know when we're on our way home). My cracked egg has made it to lockdown alive!!
I have a couple strange questions, so I thought asking them here would be perfect ...
This is going to sound weird but I was just wondering...
Has anyone ever hard boiled eggs that were in the incubator but were very early quitters and fed them to their chickens?? Is that just wrong??
And does a broody hen stop turning her eggs close to hatch??
