French frogs

We've got yotes all around the hills here, I dump the kids hair cuts outside for the little birds. They build nests with it from ground to branches and spread human scent everywhere. It helps. They just tend to keep to their side of the property line, not that they never ever visit.

We have a couple large packs in our pasture. One den is way to close to the house for comfort. They have not came up to the yard yet, but we have seen them on our back field. I have pretty good dogs, they are smart enough not to leave the safety of the yard. Though the bigger one likes to follow DH out to do chores, so far he has always been able to out run them.

So depending on how these hatchery birds look, and the ability to sell chicks, I may go that route.

I think it all depends on your area. I have hatchery birds, and I have breeder quality AMs now. I sell the breeder chicks for a little more, but locally, breeder quality doesn't make a huge difference. That's why I am looking into going NPIP. If I can ship, I can have a much larger audience, and charge more for the birds that are worth it.
I also have a waiting list starting for my cuckoo marans, and I am upfront about them being from a hatchery, but they still sell out quickly at $6 each, where the Smith AMs are at $8.

Yeah, I'm kind of hedging my on selling breed birds.

I will also look to selling high egg producing birds

As far as eggs go, we can always hatch out some of the cheap local eggs like I got before. This will give us a variety of colors.
