Good night, Phil. Pleasant dreams.

I know I shouldn't ask...but what those things
"snuggling turkeys"?

Yes, Spook works at home. Well, not really. Lets
just say Spook stays home. Not sure I really work.
I don't like to work.

I raise chickens. Chicks are cute, chickens are useful.

I raise turkeys. Poults are adorable, turkeys are tasty. And they are an amazingly curious creature, who accept humans as flock leaders and are affectionate as can be. You talk to them, they answer you. They like contact, and with babies, they will hide under your hair, behind your neck, under your chin, in a pocket (and up a sleeve, I see!) and sit there for a long time, with a happy little chatter going before they fall asleep.

That's adorable!!!!!

I really wonder how they can have a reputation for being stupid.  They learn so fast, and are so curious (and snuggly).

Any animal will be as smart as you let them be... these guys are incredible, he really enjoys how much they interact and snuggle...

They're poults, baby turkeys we hatched from Walnut's eggs... :D

They look ....little.

And now, I'm going to take my cue from Phil and head for
my Spooky bed.

Enjoyed my visit here tonight.

Spook

That's fear, and lack of leadership in a panic situation with unnatural surroundings.  I keep a lot of birds in close quarters, but they roost as is natural, and can't pile up on roosts.  Floor raised birds of any size and breed can pile up.

I just figured they had been bred to be stupid and lazy, like the cornish x. But I can appreciate unnatural environment playing a role.

X2

Calls are exceptionally intelligent as well, but spook fairly easy... most of ours we've gotten used to new things and they're much better than a lot of ducks, but we have a group of 24 that're a bit slower to calm... a simple towel scared then to a corner and a few almost got trampled to death just last night... :/
