Since it's only on one side, no smell, no other symptoms I would try to rule out trauma first. Like maybe a burn, getting pushed hard against a fence post by large animal, etc.

I'd quarantine the sick bird, and really check all of the others to look for similar symptoms.

Yes... and no... Nutridrench can be used for all ages, Red Cell only older birds, not chicks... Nutridrench doesn't have iron... Red Cell has water soluble iron... never give a chick iron... good now?I think that is what she is saying. Now…
