French Guinea- What is the difference?

I was told that French Guineas will start laying earlier than the regular guinea keets? They are larger? Tolerate the cold better.
I live in Norther WI, would the French be a better breed for me? Do they come in all of the colors that the regular ones come in?
Anyone have any eggs out there?

They come in only the pearl gray color, no others that I'm aware of. They are somewhat larger than regular guineas, bred to be meat birds. A hatchery told me on the phone that they had to artificially inseminate them, but I doubt that is the case with all of them.

Chickenlittle32 has french. I have regular pearl, which is what I wanted because of coop space. A few pounds heavier per bird can be a big difference when you have 20! lol
