French Guineas?

How long do these live? I know they get a lot bigger than regular guineas so I was wondering if they just got real big real fast and then died off like meat chickens or if they have a normal life span.

I believe they have a normal life span, but I'm not sure. I don't think they get too awful much bigger than regular guineas though.

French Guinea fowl apparently must be artificially inseminated.

They do grow a bit larger than the domestic Guineas by about 2 poiunds.

The French grow them for table food.

They seem to be a bit hardier than domestics and as far as I can tell live and play just like thier cousins.

As far as I know, the life cycle is similiar.

And they only come in the regular pearl color, too, I believe.

I am going to call IDEAL hatchery and get the skinny on this.

I also have heard, that they are actualy HYBRIDS !!

I did call Ideal once and they told me that they usually do have to be AI'd.

From now on I'm going to do research before I buy something.
