Nope. It only works in the first generation, and it has to be a non-barred male over a barred female.

If you crossed these chicks with a BR male, all would have head spots.

The nearly white chick is the baby of the ISA brown. ISA browns have a gene called dominant white, which will cover black but not red or brown. So that chick will grow up to be mostly white with some red, and maybe a touch of black.

I am not sure why the one black chick doesn't have a head spot, unless the Marans father is a cross, which it looks like he could be. In that case, he has only one gene for barring, so some of his chicks would not have the head spot.
