Frequent visitor to site, but new as BYC member

I've been raising chickens for the last almost 2 years since my son's preschool class hatched chickens and needed someone to take them once they had been observed for a week after hatching. Luckily, at the same time my neighbor was moving and getting rid of his old coop since he was building a new one at his new home. My best friend has been raising chickens for years and constantly on me to do the same!! Since the first 2 chicks, we have expanded to double the coop size and up to 12 chickens at one time. We lost our rooster last fall and recently have had something spread through our coop and l lost 3 hens. I'm now down to 8. My older 4 are 1.5 years old and my newer 4 are 7 months old. I have a mixed flock of my older group which are Maran, Silver Wyandotte, Dominique, and Buff Orpington (my fav). My younger group are 2 Brahmas and 2 Speckled Sussex. I have always went to BYC for help and answers and just now becoming a member looking for help to treat my ailing flock.
