I've just been up and checked the chickens/Ducks and thought I'll go and have a look at what I thought was unused house at the top. I've never seen anything go in or out but what I found was 62 eggs!! 10 chicken and 52 duck eggs! So I brought them all down and tested them in a bucket full of cold water. Going by this picture below. All but one egg was stood upright on its point. None of the others were stood upright or floating.
Having only 2 females indian runners, assuming they lay once a day, this means it took 26 days to lay them all.... however I've been collecting the odd duck egg in the main house. So it's not truely accurate. I now begin to think that the Indian runner has been sitting on them before we had a big storm in which might of disturbed her off the next, so dead ducklings could be the reason for the bad smell on the shell, and the reason to why they sink with the 'deadweight'. I will crack a few eggs before I decide to sell them.
