Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be apart of this lovely new community I've found myself in. So far BYC has been real resourceful for all my online questions and concerns for take my first steps towards being a new chicken momma! Can't wait to get my new babies within the next week. I'll post lots of pictures for u guys! :)

Oh thanks for the warm welcome! My girls are gonna be a mixed flock. An easter egger, Plymouth rock, Rhode island red, and an Australorp. :)

You're welcome. You've got some very good layers. Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds) and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and the best layers of the standard brown egg laying breeds. Our Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorites. She loves their colored eggs. Good luck in getting your chicks.
