Just checking in! No pressure, but if you have anything cool to share we'd love to see itvery interesting theory. I’ll download the app and give it a try on my flock. Give me a few days to post back.

I want my rooster to be seen first so I have a light colored roosterWhew, the white on the roos really jumps out, doesn’t it?
Hadn’t thought of that - it makes sense!I want my rooster to be seen first so I have a light colored rooster
All my hens are dark
I have another one if you have time. Pretty sure I know how this is going to turn out…but we have a pair of red tail hawks that have been here since long before I got chickens but have only recently made any attempts on them and of course it was on this guy in this place

Oh that’s much better than I thought though. I think he stands out here for a reason. Even after the hawk swooped on him and the hens took cover he still stayed at the edge of the cover…almost like he’s luring it away from the hensView attachment 4231784
Here's what it gave me! Though keep in mind that while he's outstanding in his field he's at his least camouflaged
I am not sure what has possessed mine to venture into this area recently. There is cover out of view of this photo but that straw was full of grass seed so I think it was a nice detour on the way to the vittles in the more covered area. They seem to come down in the mornings and evenings. The crows are also very near here in the mornings eating worms or whatever in the grass so maybe they are taking advantage of the crows as lookouts during these times. My chickens avoid open spaces

It actually started before the grass seed but the grass seed has been keeping them in that open space longer than I like. Why they risk crossing the open space in the first place is what I am not quite sure about. Looks like the same weeds to me but I am not a chicken. Maybe it’s a bug thing in which case I applaud their efforts.Grass seed lol
