Fresh Start

Should I go ahead and take out the empty and blood ring eggs? It's day 14.

There were 7 eggs we were sure about so we removed them. That leaves 5 in the incubator. One of them I'm thinking may be empty, but not sure. One of them I'm pretty sure started out as a chick but has stopped developing. Two of them obviously have chicks in them but no movement and not quite filling up the egg so not sure what's going on with them. The last one is the really active chick which is still pretty active so I'm hopeful that it will make it. My luck, though, it'll turn out to be a roo! Lol! Three days until lockdown and less than a week till hatch day! I'm so excited!!!

So today is day 18 and I'll be doing lockdown tonight. I'm going to candle again tonight but had a quick question. I'm pretty sure I've only got one viable egg in there. If only one chick hatches, could that be a problem for the chick? I know they are flock animals and don't do well alone. Any advice?

This is so nerve-wrecking waiting for something to happen! I've been watching the eggs vigilantly waiting for something to happen! Tonight is day 21!

It's hatching! The egg is moving like crazy and its chirping a lot!

Is this normal? It hatched about 15 minutes ago.

Yes completely normal, nothing to worry about. It's tired and worn out. Having been curled up in the egg its just getting used to being able to move about.

Congratulations :clap
