Welcome to BYC. Please replace that plastic with hardware cloth. We have a lot of raccoons, skunks, and other predators here in East Texas. They will be able to break into your brooder in no time.

I just threw it together with ripped 2x4 and fence picket scraps. It was free. Building coop this weekend. A pole-barn style coop with solar and water.

Welcome. I hope you can keep the cockerels if they are boys. I have a bachelor only coop that does very well. Others do as well. We can help you if needed.
