Fresh water fish tank snails

We have a fresh water fish tank and have been feeding the snails to our chickens Is this good for them or is there a risk of introducing something bad into their gut? Should we boil them first?

Depends on where the snails come from. Snails can carry parasites. If you are talking about the little ones that hatch from egg on the plants that you buy at the pet store, that's not too likely though.

I'd recommend you stopping that then giving the hens a good worming.
