I built this in-ground freshwater pool with a muddy marsh combo for my "beakies"!!!! I added ferns to the sides of the marsh which are blocked from getting the bulk of the water and mud to their roots and added ornamental grass around the pool. I will soon add sand around the sides of the pool. In these pics it is late at night and there is a flood light on the area so they can enjoy their swimming area all night long! Look at those filthy, muddy beakies!!! They jumped right into their marsh as soon as I filled it with water and started digging into the mud right away! They spent at least an hour and a half flopping around and digging, haha, and dirtying themselves up! When they got out, I put them into the pool and that nice, clean fresh water very soon became dirty! But the beakies splashed and flapped around and got all nice and clean! I will soon install a filter into that pool!!! More work to do on the beakie project, but Billie and Raptor had a blast!
