Friendlier breed poll!

My hatchery Black Ameraucana follows us around the yard, but doesn't like being picked up.
She's a weirdo.

My Cuckoo Easter Hen that I hatched years ago from a ebay seller is very friendly, loves being carried around the yard, & petted. She'll walk right up to you for attention.

Golden Comets have been the friendliest for me followed by Wyandottes and Welsummers. I loved my lavender Ameraucanas but they tend to be flighty. My Australorps were mean.

Hi, I can't vote because of all the choices, we've only raised Golden Comets.
Many of them were friendly, some were not.
I have also raised some "flighty" chickens. "Flighty" does not equal unfriendly, it equals high strung.
Many "flighty" chicken can be very friendly, even flying up to your shoulders when they see you.
They still scream "bloody murder" when you catch them.

I wish my Leghorn was not flighty. It distresses me when she screams loud at the slightest thing. She looks so sweet and I fell in love with her the moment I first saw her, hatched from her egg. But she is so highly strung I can barely stand near her, let alone pick her up and cuddle her.


Then again, I am too used to having a cozy dog as a pet who I could pat anytime I wanted (red cattle dog - very active and vocal but also affectionate and cozy).
